A modified polymer blend with structural resins gives higher density and far better crack resistance than standard 1.50 plastic. 20% lighter and about 15% thinner.

Made with Mitsui's MR-8™ material: excellent physical properties, high impact and heat resistance, and a high Abbe number that minimises chromatic aberration. About 18% thinner than conventional 1.50 plastic.

Passes the FDA drop-ball test

The mandatory impact test required by the U.S. FDA: a steel ball is dropped onto the exact geometric centre of the lens. It passes if the lens does not fracture or shatter on impact. Ordinary lenses can split into sharp fragments that endanger the eye.
